Wood flooring is such a technical subject. Architect and design teams need to know and understand about sub floor preparation, DPMs, installation techniques, differences between solid and engineered floors, surfaces finishes and structures as well as renovating and maintenance. The CPD program we have covers all aspects of the tradition and trade.
The CPD program is offered over three convenient time slots, with a maximum 8 members per team.

CPD 1- Sub floor preparation for wood flooring
Covers screed, joist and boarded floors, resin and DPM primers, mosaic and plywood-particle board underpayments. Moisture reading and humidity. Requirements for adhesives and the different types.
CPD 2-Electric underfloor heating and wood floors
Covers specification, performance, subfloor requirements, issues relating to temperature and commissioning. When to install and when not to install. How a floor heat source affects wood flooring, both solid and engineered.
CPD3-Floor sanding/finishing and renovation
Covers floor sanding and onsite brushing, finishing techniques using reactive colour systems, lyes and soap. Application of lacquers and hardwax oils and specialist pigments. Maintaining wood floors
CPD4- Wide plank and Parquet engineered floors
Covers all aspects from logs n the forest with FSC certification through to mill preparation of top layers. Engineered differences and core build ups, techniques for gluing and profiling, factory finishing and brushing, specie grading and top layer thicknesses.
